Tournament
Angler

Background:
In 2003 I was invited to fish in the Camp Confidence tournament with one of Minnesota’s best tournament anglers, Paul Kielb. I had never fished for bass until that weekend. After that weekend, I was hooked. Within two weeks I had a bass boat. In 2003 and 2004 I fished only a couple of tournaments. I was mainly focused on working on what I had learned from Paul and my goal was to fish 6 to 8 tournaments in 2005. My first year, I had some good moments and some rough moments and learned quite a bit. You can read about how my season turned around in an article I wrote for Classic Bass called “Just Go Fishing!” 2006 was not a banner year in terms of cashing checks, but I enjoyed myself and met some great people. 2007 was a more productive year in regards to finishes.

The highlight of 2007 was being part of the Camp Confidence Fishing Classic.  This is a 100% charity tournament.  I finished first in the bass division, but more importantly Subway of Nisswa donated 280 box lunches for the participants.  It is a very well run tournament.  To be involved in 2008, go to www.campconfidence.com.  I will be there again and Subway of Nisswa will once again be donating box lunches for all participants.

As a member of the Classic Bass Field Staff I enjoy speaking with youngsters and even older people about how to get started bass fishing. I also enjoy writing articles for the education zone. I hope to be able to give newcomers and even veterans a different perspective on bass fishing.

With the support from
Subway (Crosslake, Nisswa & Staples), Farm Island Marine, Skeeter and Yamaha I’m looking forward to the 2008 season fishing in about 20 tournaments as a member of Team Skeeter.

Check out the web sites of all my sponsors including the
Subway link, which will from time to time offer bass enthusiasts a valuable coupon offer.
