Joel Stokka
Tournament Director
for  Excel Bass.

Joel fishes competitively in regional pro-am and local tournament circuits throughout the upper mid-west. Joel has earned himself a reputation as one of the best slop water bass rats in Minnesota!

In addition to being a competitive angler, Joel has written many bass fishing articles that have appeared on several internet bass fishing web sites and in local sports magazines.

Joel in recent years has transition from a competitive bass fisherman to a tournament promoter and advocate for tournament sport fishing in Minnesota. Although Joel still fishes competitively in local tournament circuits through out Minnesota and Florida, he owns and manages Excel Bass which occupies most of his soft water months. The singles circuit has grown from 10 -12 angler to over 50 per event. New for 2008 is a new Team and Pro/Am circuits coming in 2008. Excel TNT is a bi-monthly evening series tournament circuit.

Joel started the Minnesota Sportfishing Coalition in efforts to unite tournament organizers to collaborate with the State DNR officials to help guide them through changes and processes related to tournament regulation in Minnesota. Joel also sits on several State advisory and conservation boards as a sport fishing advocate.
Joel makes his home on Leech Lake in the Summer and in Winter Haven, Florida when the water hardens.
