2020 Champions Tour Updates

2020 Champions Tour Schedule

  1. July 31st:  Lake Vermilion, Tower, MN
  2. August 21st:  Mississippi River (Pool 4), Lake City, MN
  3. September 3rd: Lake Pokegama, Grand Rapids, MN
  4. September 4th:  2020 TOC – lake will be announced following the Lake Pokegama event

Points

  1. Must fish ALL three events
  2. Angler of the Year and Championship qualification points will be calculated based on a fixed scale of 100 points for first place, 99 for second place and so on down the line
  3. TOC Qualification will be based on an Angler’s best three events
  4. 50% of the 2020 Field will qualify for the Championship
  5. AOY will be based on Angler’s best three events

Championship – LIVE Event Fishing for a NEW Skeeter/Yamaha Boat Package and Prizes – NO ENTRY FREE!!

  1. The winner of each of the three events, will automatically qualify for the Championship
  2. The top 50 percent in year end point standings will qualify for the Championship
  3. Additional Live coverage will be in place for the Championship
  4. The location of the Championship will be announced following the Lake Pokegama event on September 3rd
  5. There will be NO practice for the Championship

2020 Registrations/Balance Deadline

  1. May 15th:  Angler’s must let the Champions Tour know if they plan on competing in 2020
  2. June 1st:  Entries must be received with a full payment
  3. If you wish to pay with credit card, you can, but a 3% service fee will be added to the transaction
  4. Angler’s that had signed up and paid for all four 2020 events and still plan on competing in 2020, will be issued a refund of $1,000

Boat Officials (New for 2020 Season)

  1. Champions Tour Anglers are REQUIRED to supply a boat official for the 2020 season, preference for this boat official is a family member or relative, IF you need help in securing a boat official, the Champions Tour staff will have a list of approved SATT Boat Officials that we can link you with
  2. The tournament will be conducting in accordance with current CDC, MN Health and MN DNR Guidelines
  3. Please keep in consideration when selecting your Boat Official that they current MN DNR suggestion is to only fish with someone from your household (April 27, 2020)
  4. Each Boat Official will be paid $100 by the Champions Tour at each event
  5. A Champions Tour angler can select a different Boat Official for each of the events
  6. The Boat Official you select for the Pokegama event, also needs to be available for the Championship on September 4th
  7. If an Angler does NOT provide a Boat Official on tournament day, the Angler will NOT be able to fish
  8. We will be randomly pairing Angler’s and Boat Officials together and announcing these pairings one week prior, contact must be made by the Angler to the Boat Official
  9. If CDC, MN Health and MN DNR Guidelines suggest us to not randomly pair individuals together, we do reserve the right to pair the Angler with the Boat Official they have supplied

Rules

  1. The minimum bass size for the 2020 season is 1 lb
  2. One week prior to the tournament, ONLY immediate family members, the Boat Official the Angler is supplying, or their tournament day Boat Official can pre-fish or be in a boat with a Champions Tour angler
  3. The Champions Tour will be providing buff’s to all Angler’s and Boat Officials at each of the 2020 events.  A buff or face mask must be worn at ALL times by the Angler and Boat Official

Payouts

  1. Full payout schedules will be available ASAP. We will be paying out over 100% in cash and prizes at each event in 2020
  2. We will be paying out cash and prizes to the top 30% of the field in 2020
  3. 2020 Championship NO ENTRY FEE!

Important Items to Note

  1. The Champions Tour will continue to take guidance and suggestions from the CDC, MN Health and the MN DNR on how to conduct our events to ensure the safety of our anglers, boat officials and staff
  2. A dedicated media day is not planned at this time, but the Champions Tour Staff will be reaching out to conduct interviews and shoot video content at each event
  3. The status of pre-tournament meeting the night before each event is TBD, if we do not hold the meeting, we will be doing a Live video event to go over the rules, etc.
  4. There still will be the mid-day break. You will return to the tournament site by 11:00 a.m., give us you first half scorecard, grab a sack lunch for you and your Boat Official. You can use the restroom if needed, but then must return to your boat and stay in your boat until we send you back out for the second half of fishing
  5. The Champions Tour trailer will be set up at the event locations and awards will be handed out, if you do not feel comfortable attending, that is alright, if you will be receiving a check/prize we do ask you return to the tournament site
