Champions Tour Partners with Fishing for Life

The Champions Tour, the Midwest’s most exciting and prestigious bass tournament trail is pleased to announce that for the 2022 season they have partnered with the non-profit organization, Fishing for Life.

Fishing for Life is a local Minnesota based organization that supports kids, families, and veterans through fishing and outdoor programs.  Urban ministries benefit greatly from our Reel Em in program as we can provide them with fishing gear gathered and rebuilt through this partnership.  This provides kids with a positive alternative to the streets.  The organization also provides military veterans and their families with gently used fishing equipment for their use.

“We appreciate the support already from the Champions Tour and know that they will be able to help us get the word out about Fishing for Life,” said Tom Goodrich, Director.  “We have heard nothing but great things about the amazing stewards of the sport that the Champions Tour anglers are and couldn’t think of a better organization to partner with.”

Second year Champions Tour Pro, Tommy Parker is working with Fishing for Life this season to help spread the word of this great organization and assist with collecting the gently used fishing equipment that the organization needs.  Tommy will be able to collect any fishing equipment from the other 2022 Champions Tour anglers, or spectators at any of the 2022 Champions Tour events.

“Being able to help get kids, and military veterans, fishing is such a great cause, that we were overjoyed to get involved,” said Scott Bonnema, Owner of the Champions Tour.  “We know that all of our Champions Tour anglers, and many of the individuals in the communities we visit for our Tour events have fishing gear they are looking to put into good hands, we feel honored that we can be that trusted drop off point.”

Last week, Fishing for Life held one of four volunteer events where all the donated fishing equipment is repaired, cleaned, assembled, and spooled up with new fishing line, ensuring that when it is provided to a young angler, or military veteran that it is ready to use and will provide them with a lifetime of memories.  In total, 1,000 rods and reels are now ready for use, along with 300 tackle boxes.
