Rumor is that Gull Lake is on fire! This Thursday, 8/25 the Champions Tour will host their last regular season event of the year out of Ernie’s on Gull. The buzz around the lake and results from recent tournaments are leading us to believe that the bite should be strong.
This tournament carries plenty of weight for several Champions Tour anglers. After this event, the top 25 anglers in points will be determined for championship qualification. The 2022 Championship will take place next week on Serpent Lake near Crosby, MN where a Skeeter bass boat will be awarded to the winner.
Tomorrow’s tournament should provide plenty of bass catching in a variety of ways. Docks will always be a factor but Gull’s offshore structure might just be the primary option for most anglers. If large late summer schools of bass can be located, guys will get rich in a hurry. But it’s still fishing and we’ll have to wait to see how it unfolds!
