The Champions Tour fishing tournament will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2019 on Pokegama Lake.

The partnership between Visit Grand Rapids and the Champions Tour revolves specifically around late August when the Champions Tour anglers will be visiting Lake Pokegama for its fourth and final regular season tournament.  On Wednesday August 28th the Champions Tour angler’s will be having a media day where the public and media is invited to attend at the IRA Civic Center from Noon to 4:00 pm.  The tournament will be on Friday, August 29th, and be going out of the Pokegama Golf Course, where the public can attend to see the take off at 7am and awards ceremony around 4:30 pm.

Pokegama is an incredible lake with a diverse fishery that Champions Tour anglers are eager to fish. In 2017, Grand Rapids local Andy Walls won the inaugural Champions Tour Championship on Lake Pokegama and drove home with a new Skeeter Boat in tow.
